"A beautiful villa, with an incredible view, a lovely big pool, and very well furnished and designed interior. Alison was very helpful in allowing us to adjust dates. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay."
"Fantastic panoramic villa with a large swimming pool for the number of people that can be accommodated. In particular, the length of the pool also allowed for swimming as in a training pool (when the children allowed it!). The villa has a beautiful patio that allows you to stay outdoors from breakfast to dinner, all with a beautiful view of the Tevere valley. Children can play happy and safely thanks to the large spaces of the garden which is well kept. Functional and aesthetically beautiful kitchen. There is everything, even if there are many people. The rooms are well furnished, you sleep well. Clean bathrooms (as well as the whole house and the whole property) and functional. What can I say more: perfect! Penna in Teverina has everything you need to live, the area offers many wineries that can be reached in a few minutes (I recommend a nice tour of these that you can organize by yourself) and there are so many places to visit, especially the medieval villages. All perfect for a holiday in which to relax, drink and eat well, in one of the parts of Italy to be discovered. The courtesy and organization of those who host you then makes everything very easy to manage away from the thoughts and stress of the period and work. Villa Margherita was a little dream that made us happier."
"Great place. We spent 1 week. Five adults, three kids age 0-3. Was room for more people. Short walk to center of cosy village Penne. Lovely pool area with gate so kids safe."
"The location of the house is really fantastic. The view over the Tiber valley and to places is breathtaking. Especially now - at the end of August - the weather was already changeable and at night even with rain, the impressions were different every day. Sometimes strong early fog, sometimes hazy and sometimes very clear vision. From the valley one can sometimes hear the rumbling of a distant train or engine noises, but only very isolated and absolutely not disturbing. The house is not old, but in many details based on the traditional construction. Materials and craftsmanship are typical of the location. It surprises with a large porch, which shades the upper floor and thus allows large glazing from a central living area in this upper floor, with a view of the Tiber Valley. An interesting detail, but only for the transitional periods or in winter when it is too cold outside. The pool was very clean, it is about 3.5x14.5 meters and to the swimmer really great, even the children had their fun. I was only with my three children, but the house is also very usable for larger groups. Pool, bed linen, towels, kitchen (pots, even all glasses and dishes) really tiptop - not new, but everything absolutely clean and well maintained!"
"Excellent welcome excellent permanence place and house beautiful excellent quality price"
"Very nice house, pleasant to live in and well equipped. Superb swimming pool ideally placed (allowing children to have fun while leaving the terrace quiet): the view and the garden are magnificent. The location of the house makes it possible to get there in an hour and it is easy to shop by car in a few minutes. Ideal setting to spend a quiet and relaxing holiday in a beautiful environment. Thanks to Alison (and Maura) for their attention"
"Such a beautiful place. We highly recommend it, and it is perfect if you travel as A group"
"We spent 11 days in this villa and had a wonderful time. The villa is exactly as it looks in the photos with comfortable bedrooms and a very good living space. As others have said, there are well stocked supermarkets nearby and in Penna itself, there is a small store and a lovely restaurant within walking distance. Maura, the housekeeper, is a wonderful cook and prepared several delicious 3 course meals which was a fantastic bonus. The villa is an easy drive from Rome, just over an hour, and well placed to visit the many beautiful hilltop towns like Orvieto and Amelia. The pool which is not visible from the house is totally secluded and a good size for swimming lengths or messing around. Our children found the floor of the pool rough on their feet (as they spent hours in the pool!) but otherwise it was always refreshingly cool. Shade is limited as it's only provided by the olive trees around the pool but there was generally a lovely breeze. Beach towels are needed for beside the pool. I would thoroughly recommend this villa for its secluded position but yet it is within walking distance of a pretty village and easy driving distance of other towns. The views on the patio are quite breathtaking, looking down the valley past the olive, fig and lemons trees, it was spectacular to sit there at any time of the day."
